The "Ring Of Fire" in Childbirth - What I Wish I'd Known - Mommy on Purpose
What to Expect During A Vaginal Delivery Choose a Vaginal Delivery Each delivery is as unique and individual as every mother and baby. In addition, women can have completely different experiences with each new job and delivery. Giving birth is an event that will change your life that will leave you an impression for the rest of your life. Of course, you will want this to be a positive experience and know what to expect. Here are some information about what can happen while you are delivering your baby. Birth plans: Should you have one? As you approach the last part of your pregnancy, you may want to write a birth plan. Consider carefully what is important to you. The overall objective is a healthy mother and baby. The birth plan describes its ideal birth and may need to be adjusted as the actual situation develops. Talk to your partner and decide who wants to attend birth. Some couples feel that this is a private time and prefer not to have others present. A birth plan may include other topics such as pain relief during childbirth, childbirth positions, . Early stages of work Amniotic sac Amniotic sac is the fluid-filled membrane surrounding your baby. This sack will almost always break before the baby is born, although in some cases it remains intact until delivery. When it explodes, it is often described as its "waterbreaking." " In most cases, your water will break before going to work or at the very beginning of the work. Most women experience their rupture of water as a fluid gust. It should be clear and toilet — if it is yellow, green or brown, contact your doctor immediately. Contracts The contractions are the hardening and release of your uterus. These movements will eventually help your baby cross the cervix. Contractions may feel like heavy cramps or pressure that starts on the back and moves to the front. Contracts are not a reliable indicator of work. You could have felt that way, which could have started as early as your second quarter. A general rule is that when you are having contractions that last for a minute, they are five separate minutes, and have been so for an hour, you are in real work. Cervix dilation The cervix is the lowest part of the uterus that opens to the vagina. The cervix is a tubular structure of approximately 3 to 4 centimeters in length with a passage that connects the uterina cavity with the vagina. During work, the role of the cervix should change to keep the pregnancy (maintaining the uterus closed) to facilitate the baby's delivery (to allow the baby to pass). The fundamental changes that occur near the end of the pregnancy result in a softening of the cervical tissue and the thinning of the cervix, both of which help prepare the cervix. Active work is considered to be in progress when the cervix is dilated 3 centimeters or more. Work and delivery Eventually, the cervical canal should be opened until the cervical opening has reached 10 centimeters in diameter and the baby can pass to the birth channel. As the baby enters the vagina, the skin and muscles are stretched. The lips and the perineum (the area between the vagina and the rectum) finally reach a maximum stretching point. At this point, the skin can feel it burns. Some birth educators call it the ring of fire because of the burning sensation that feels as the mother's tissues spread around the baby's head. At this time, your health care provider may decide to perform one. You may or may not feel episiotomy because skin and muscles may lose the feeling due to the strength they stretch. BirthAs the baby's head emerges, there is a great relief from the pressure, although it will probably still feel some discomfort. Your nurse or doctor will ask you to stop pushing momentarily while your baby's mouth and nose are sucked to clean the amniotic fluid and mucus. It's important to do this before the baby starts breathing and crying. The doctor will usually turn the baby's head a quarter back to be in alignment with the baby's body, which is still inside you. Then you will be asked to start pushing again to deliver your shoulders. The upper shoulder comes first and then the lower shoulder. Then, with a last push, deliveries to your baby! Placenta Delivery The placenta and the amniotic sac that supported and protected the baby for nine months remain in the uterus after delivery. These need to be delivered, and this can happen spontaneously or it can take up to half an hour. Your midwife or doctor may rub your abdomen under the belly button to help tighten your uterus and loosen the placenta. Your uterus is now about the size of a large grapefruit. You may need to push to help deliver the placenta. You may feel some pressure as the placenta is expelled but not as much pressure as when the baby was born. Your health care provider will inspect the placenta delivered to ensure that it was delivered in full. On rare occasions, some of the placenta do not release and may remain attached to the wall of the uterus. If this happens, your provider will reach your uterus to remove leftover parts in order to prevent heavy bleeding that may result from a broken placenta. If you want to see the placenta, please ask. They'll usually be happy to show you. Pain and other sensations during childbirth If you choose a natural childbirth h If you decide to have a "natural" birth (deliver without pain medications), you will feel all kinds of sensations. The two sensations you will experience are pain and pressure. When you start pushing, some pressure will be relieved. As the baby goes down to the birth channel, however, he will be under pressure only during contractions to experience constant and growing pressure. It will feel like a strong impulse to have a bowel movement while the baby presses down on those same nerves. If you choose to have an epidural If you have an epidural, what you feel during work will depend on the effectiveness of the epidural block. If the medication correctly kills nerves, you may not feel anything. If it is moderately effective, you can feel some pressure. If it's mildly like that, you'll feel pressure that may or may not be uncomfortable for you. It depends on how well you tolerate pressure sensations. You may not feel the stretching of the vagina, and you will probably not feel an episiotomy. Possible tear Although significant injuries are not common, during the dilation process, the cervix may tear and ultimately require repair. Vaginal tissues are soft and flexible, but if delivery occurs quickly or with excessive force, these tissues can tear. In most cases, lacerations are minor and can be easily repaired. Occasionally, they can be more serious and lead to long-term problems. Normal childbirth and childbirth often result in injuries to the vagina and/or cervix. Even women who have their first baby will have an episiotomy or some type of vaginal tear that requires repair. Fortunately, the vagina and the cervix have a rich blood supply. That's why injuries in these areas quickly heal and leave little or no scarring that could result in long-term problems. Perspective It is not impossible to prepare for work and dedication, but it is a process famously unpredictable. Understanding time and listening to other mothers' experiences can go a long way to make childbirth less mysterious. Many pregnant mothers find it useful to write a birth plan with their partner and share it with their medical team. If you create a plan, get ready to change your mind if the need arises. Remember that your goal is to have a healthy baby and a healthy and positive experience. Last medical review on April 18, 2018 Read this next series of words

Nav social menu Fire song during birth: Did you know that you can avoid it? Avoid the ring of fire during birth If you are in your , you are more than likely to experience childbirth very soon. You may have heard other women talking about something that happens when a woman is at work. The ring of fire during birth. If you have heard of the term then the chances are that someone has probably told you a horror story about what will happen to you once you are ready to deliver your baby and your baby's head is crowning. Anyway, before I unveil too much, let's talk again about this fire ring that's supposed to be a terrible part of labor. If you don't know what the fire ring is at birth, then let me explain it a little better. What does it mean to crown in pregnancy? The coronation and the ring of fire are almost one and the same thing for many people, but in reality they are not. You could ask why I say that and just because you can have one without the other. Your baby's head may be crowned without experiencing the fire ring, so they can't be one and the same. The term coronation simply refers to your baby's head starting to appear on the delivery channel once you are completely dilated. What is the ring of fire during birth? The ring of fire during birth simply put is the coronation of your baby's head. As your baby's head starts to make an appearance of your vagina (called coronation) there is sometimes a burning sensation. The burning sensation you get is from your vagina while you begin to stretch to allow your baby a way out. It can be incredibly painful for some women and certainly not be scoffed at! It's pretty hard to explain the feeling, but I'd like you to try to make a big poo when you're constipated. That burning sensation you feel is quite similar, it only happens in an even more sensitive body area. OIf you put your fingers on every side of your mouth and strips, it's also a similar feeling. Ow! If you have already had the unfortunate event of experiencing the fire ring during birth before then I have to highly recommend you. Related posts7 Things you can do to prevent the ring of fire during birth.1. Get that baby in the right position This is a great little advice and one you can work on before entering the job. If you are already in your it is possible that you have already experienced your midwife feeling your stomach to see how your baby faces. There's a very good reason for this. The best position for your baby to be in the head down with the back of your head in front of the front of your stomach. Having your baby in this position gives you the best opportunity for easier work (if there is such a thing) and your baby's head crowning less pain. The baby can become all kinds of fun positions while you are pregnant so your doctor or midwife will keep an eye on your baby's position in the last few weeks before giving birth. Birth of water I know that some people think that the birth of water is something "hyppy" but honestly it is a very great way to help and avoid that ring of fire. I stayed during my second pregnancy because I basically did everything wrong and I didn't hear my own gut feelings. The mistake I made was that I let other people take control of my birth even though I was the only one who could experience what I felt. After tearing down, they told me that the area was now a weakened place and I would probably tear myself back if I was going to go through the delivery again. What a big blow it was for me to hear. That's the last thing you want to know. Fortunately I went to have 2 more births after that and I didn't tear myself. My last 2 births were. In all honesty that is the only way for me to be born in the greatest comfort. If you are not sure about the birth of water and how you can help, you should definitely have a reading of having a water birth ensure that everything is soft and flexible, which makes you less likely to get a perineal tear and avoid the feeling of stretching that is the fire ring.3. Breathe. It probably sounds too simple, doesn't it? Well, actually breathing is a great way to make sure you get enough oxygen in your body and ensure that you are as relaxed as possible. One of the worst things you can do during childbirth is to try to run to get your baby out. You should never go through the pain. Nothing good will come from this. Doctors and midwives are there to guide you during your work, but ultimately they cannot feel what you do and tell you exactly when to push and not too.5. Follow your body This is almost in line with the number of point 4.You have to trust your body and follow your track. If you feel ready for your time to push then you should. If you have the feeling that you have to slow down then you should. There's no rule out there that says when you get to the one you have to deliver in the next five minutes. Each woman's body is different, some deliver quickly while others need more time. I'll tell you again, trust your body and follow your example.6. Perineum MassageThe perineo massage is another way to help you get away from the fire ring during birth. If you are not familiar with a perineal massage the concept might have to feel a bit in a strange way. In all honesty, it's becoming more and more common among many pregnant women, so don't worry too much about it. A perineal massage is basically a soft skin massage that is between the vagina and the anus. One of the benefits of doing this type of massage is that it helps to keep the area stretched and soft to avoid the ring of fire when it is giving birth. Generally, if a woman is going to tear during pregnancy, that is where it is likely to occur as the head of the babies begins to crown.7. I work in a position that is comfortable for you This is really important because you should feel as comfortable as possible when those that through thick and fast.
